Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) announces the release of the 298D MicroTan™ series that offers 0603 (M-case) and 0805 (S-case) footprints with 0.90mm maximum height.

Conserves PCB space by enabling the use of fewer components, lower component cost and higher reliability
Using the new MAP (Multi-Array Packaging) assembly technology and face-down termination design, MicroTan™ realizes a great volumetric effect that enables product ratings from 1 µF, 16 V to 220 µF, 4 V in the M-case.

• Structure of the M-case also enables better performance over frequency and better product reliability as compared to competing 0603 designs
• MicroTan™ provides the perfect solution for the piezo noise problem and temperature instability of high-CV MLCCs when used in AV output of portable consumer products
• The high capacitance range of MicroTan™ is ideal for future end products with more integrated functions
• Molded case encapsulation provides robust protection from physical damage and is ideally suited for pick- and place-operations
• MicroTan™ is an environmentally-friendly product that is lead (Pb)-free and RoHS-compliant

Target Applications
MP3 players, cell phones, PDAs, and other handheld commercial electronics where high CV is a key requirement.

Availability:
