Vishay in the News: Press Coverage Highlights

The June 30 issue of Future Fab International will feature an article profiling Vishay's semiconductor facility in Itzehoe, Germany, co-written by Vishay employee Heinz Jürgen Voβ. Future Fab, which is distributed to over 650 semiconductor fab sites in the USA, Canada, Japan, Western Europe, Southeast Asia, and Eastern Europe, reaches key decision-makers including senior executives, chief engineers, senior designers, and line managers.

A feature article titled OEMs Pull Power Switch in the May 24 issue of Electronic Buyers' News highlighted key features and benefits of Vishay Siliconix MOSFETS. The article showcased semiconductor products that meet the needs of OEMs with ever-tightening design schedules.

The front page of the Philadelphia Inquirer May 21 Business section featured an article entitled Vishay an active player in semiconductor market. The article, based primarily on an interview with Dr. Zandman, highlighted Vishay's growth strategy, recent business upturn, and 5-for-4 partial stock split. It noted that, through its TEMIC acquisition, "Vishay widened its product line and made important inroads in Asia."

The May 3 issue of Electronic Buyers' News included a news item on Vishay's plans to build a plant in Be'er Sheva, Israel to manufacture Power MOSFETs. The item describes the strong demand for Vishay Siliconix products and Vishay's need to increase capacity.

Dr. Zandman and Vishay were the subject of a column in the April 5 issue of Electronic News titled Never the Last Journey. The piece, which takes its title from Dr. Zandman's autobiography, recaps key events and summarizes Vishay's growth through R&D and acquisition.

The San Jose (California) Mercury News included Siliconix in its April 18 list of the Silicon Valley 150, a ranking of public companies in Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, southern San Mateo, and Southern Alameda counties on the basis of worldwide revenues.

An article titled What materials switch means to MLCC buyers in the April 12 issue of Electronic Buyers' News talked about the transition from palladium to nickel in capacitor production.

Vishay products featured in recent trade publications include Blue LEDs (Electronic Engineering Times, April 12), Little Foot Power MOSFETs (Electronic Design, April 5), TrenchFET Power MOSFETs (Electronic Engineering Times, April 5), the DC/DC Controller IC (Battery Power Products and Technology, April) tantalum chip capacitors (SMT, April), the new photomodule for pulse-code IR systems (Electronic Products and Technology, Canada, April), SOT-23 MOSFETS (EDN, Mach 18), Bulk Metal foil resistors (Electronic Products, March), and metal film resistors (EE Product News, March).

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc., a Fortune 1,000 Company listed on the NYSE (VSH), is one of the world's largest manufacturers of discrete semiconductors (diodes, rectifiers, transistors, and optoelectronics and selected ICs) and passive electronic components (resistors, capacitors, inductors, sensors, and transducers). These components are used in virtually all types of electronic devices and equipment, in the industrial, computing, automotive, consumer, telecommunications, military, aerospace, and medical markets. Its product innovations, successful acquisition strategy, and ability to provide "one-stop shop" service have made Vishay a global industry leader.
