Dr. Felix Zandman, Chairman and CEO of Vishay Intertechnology, Receives Musser Award for Excellence in Leadership

MALVERN, PENNSYLVANIA - November 18, 1999 - Dr. Felix Zandman, Chairman and CEO of Vishay Intertechnology, Inc., received the prestigious Musser Award for Excellence in Leadership during a reception held on November 17 at 6:00 p.m., Temple University, Mitten Hall, Broad Street and Berks Mall, Philadelphia, Pa. The annual award, presented by Temple University's Fox School of Business and Management, honors outstanding achievement and service by a distinguished member of the business community. It recognizes the ideal of leadership as exceptional individual accomplishments that also benefit the larger community.

Warren V. (Pete) Musser and M. Moshe Porat, Dean, Fox School of Business and Management, presented the award to Dr. Zandman, who gave an address on business ethics. Serving as master of ceremonies was Tyler Mathisen, CNBC program co-host. Commenting on his selection as 1999 award recipient, Dr. Zandman said, "I am honored to receive this award. Business ethics are the fabric and key to American success."

Dr. Felix Zandman, a physicist, inventor, and entrepreneur, founded Vishay Intertechnology in 1962. He has published three textbooks and numerous scientific papers, and holds 39 patents in the U.S. and abroad. His autobiography, entitled Never the Last Journey, recounts his story from Holocaust victim to head of an industry-leading, high-tech, multinational corporation. It recently was translated and published in France, Germany, and Israel. Dr. Zandman holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Paris, Sorbonne. Previous awards received by him include the Order of Merit for Research and Invention (France), the Distinguished Contribution Award from the American Society for Stress Analysis, the Franklin Institute Medal for Science, and the Legion of Honor, awarded by the President of France.

The Musser Award for Excellence in Leadership is formally recognized by the governor of The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the mayor of The City of Philadelphia, and is supported financially by leaders in business, industry, education, and government.
